Summary
This established Halifax based restaurant group’s recent growth has seen them expand their business into new areas, through both partnerships and acquisitions. They’re looking for an experienced VP of Food and Beverage to work with their internal leadership team and partners as we continue their growth into this new market segment. This position works with the General Managers of the portfolio of hospitality assets to ensure the success of both standalone F&B outlets, those integrated within their properties and external catering programs. A combination of common sense, sound leadership and strategic thinking are key tools the successful candidate will bring to this role. You also bring an enthusiasm for training, ensuring the team is positioned to deliver exceptional services, that exceed customer expectations.

Description
People:

Product:
- Works closely with culinary teams and partners to create company wide F&B program that supports positioning by outlet and expected costs of sales.
- Sets par levels and control procedures to ensure employees have the product, tools and materials required to succeed.
- Builds and executes business plans and budgets for owned outlets and approves the same for partnered outlets; implementing appropriate measures of accountability.
- Works closely with sales and marketing team to create synergy and ensure sales initiative and marketing plans are achievable and properly executed.
- Participates with organizational leadership in evaluation/development of new food and beverage opportunities
- Lead initiatives for sustainability, diversity and community engagement appropriate to each outlet
Process:
- Implements processes and standards that ensure staff have the tools to consistently make a great service impression.
- Does not allow short falls in operating standards to go unaddressed.
- Possesses technical skills necessary to maintain and adjust cost control procedures to meet budgeted expectations.
- Reviews financial outcomes daily, weekly, and monthly, adjusting as necessary to optimize revenues and margins.
- Establishes program for maintenance and replacement of equiptment.
- Ensures best in class workplace practices at all times adhering to Armour’s safety programs and human resources policies.
Requirements
- Post secondary education in Food and Beverage Management, Business, Hospitality or another related field of study is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in the Food and Beverage Industry focusing on up-scale casual dining and/or luxury experiences.
- Proven ability to create and maintain a world class customer service experience, tailored to the needs of the target guest, by expertly leading teams.
- Minimum three years strategic management experience, including development and execution of business plans and budgets.
- Valid Drivers Licence
- Qualification to work in Canada
Corporate Culture
This roll will involve hours outside of regular business hours, including work on nights and weekends in order to accommodate peak business periods. With frequent and sometimes prolonged periods of standing and movement, the positions operates within a dynamic guest centric setting.
